VISION CORRECTION:
The most common conditions treated at Valley Eye Care are those which cause blurry vision. Dr. Rhinehart measures refractive error (focusing problems), prescribes corrective eyeglasses, contact lenses and works with the certified opticians in the affiliated Costco Optical to ensure that patients understand which options and products will give them the best vision possible.
Our new Marco TS-6100 Digital Refractor enhances both efficiency and accuracy, ensuring that your prescription gives you the best vision possible.
Patient education about corrective surgery options such as LASIK surgery and cataract surgery is also provided to eligible patients.

DRY EYE DISEASE:
Dry eye is very common and, unfortunately, often under-diagnosed and poorly managed. Symptoms of dry eye include chronic or intermittent redness, irritation, stinging, burning, foreign body sensation, blurry vision and paradoxical watering (reflex tearing). In order to treat patients with dry eye, it is first necessary to understand the underlying cause(s) of dry eye, which can range from poor gland function in the eyelids to serious systemic disease or use of certain medications.
At Valley Eye care, experience in dry eye disease has produced very positive outcomes for dry eye patients, many of whom present with a long history of dry eye. Dr. Rhinehart's approach includes a detailed health history and thorough ophthalmologic exam of the lids and ocular surface. Treatment approaches range from simply changing your brand of contacts or contact lens solution to use of artificial lubricants, nutritional supplements, prescription medications and punctal plugs.

CONTACT LENS SERVICES:
In most cases, patients of Valley Eye Care are able to get contact lenses in their new prescription at the conclusion of their evaluation. We have the area's widest variety of diagnostic contact lenses including lenses for patients with high myopia (nearsightedness) and hyperopia (farsightedness), as well as lenses for presbyopia (usually corrected by reading glasses or bifocals) and astigmatism (distortion).
Most prescriptions can be filled in very convenient daily, 2-week or monthly replacement options, though Dr. Rhinehart also cares for many patients who wear rigid gas-permeable contact lenses. Lens options are offered and prescribed based on each patient's needs and the performance aspects of each lens as determined by Dr. Rhinehart's experience in fitting contacts to ensure that patients have the best vision in the most comfortable lenses possible.

MEDICAL AND EMERGENCY EYE CARE:
Eye problems are for eye doctors. We have the specialized diagnostic tools and the expertise to properly evaluate, diagnose and treat disorders and diseases of the eye including dry eye disease, ocular allergies, eye infections, chemical insults, foreign bodies and other injuries as well as chronic conditions which affect the eye like diabetes and glaucoma.

OPTOMAP RETINAL IMAGING
Our new Optos Daytona provides Optomap Retinal Imaging, allowing us to capture exquisitely detailed, ultra-wide field retinal images without the use of dilating eye drops. While our range of care still includes pupillary dilation in certain cases, Optomap retinal images provide enhanced diagnostic capabilities in retinal examinations with 200 degree views of the retina through undilated pupils.
Digital images are reviewed with patients during their examinations and saved as part of their permanent eye care record at Valley Eye Care and can be easily shared with patients and other providers like retina specialists, when referrals are indicated.

OCCUPATIONAL AND RECREATIONAL VISION SOLUTIONS:
Computer Use Complex, also known as Computer Vision Syndrome is described by the American Optometric Association as "a group of eye and vision-related problems that result from prolonged computer use [where] individuals experience eye discomfort and vision problems when viewing a computer screen for extended periods." Symptoms include eyestrain, headaches, blurred vision, dry eyes and neck and shoulder pain. Dr. Rhinehart has a high success rate helping patients to eliminate such difficulties. He also understands that there are other unique demands and challenges in various work or recreational settings, for which patients may require customized vision correction. These options can include daily disposable contact lenses, industrial or sports-related safety eye wear and eyeglass prescriptions for specialized tasks and activities.
